BNP national executive committee is going to hold its first meeting on Saturday next (February 3) at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) as a Dhaka court is set to deliver its verdict on February 8 in a corruption case against party chairperson Khaleda Zia, reports UNB.
Speaking at a press briefing at BNP's Nayapaltan central office on Monday, party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the meeting will begin at 10:00am at Rajdarshan Hall of the convention centre and will continue until 5:00pm.
He said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir convened the meeting in consultation with party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Rizvi said a notice has already been sent to all the 502 executive committee members asking them to be present at the meeting.
BNP formed its 502-member national executive committee on August 6, 2016 over four and a half months after its national council held on March 19.
