BNP spreading lies over Khaleda's health: Hasan (2019-02-28)

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Wednesday urged the BNP leaders not to do ill politics and resort to falsehood over Begum Khaleda Zia's health, reports BSS.

"A physician and a nurse have been appointed fulltime for Begum Zia. In need, she is given treatment outside the jail," he said, speaking at a meeting at an auditorium of the National Press Club here.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) organised the meeting marking the 7th death anniversary of eminent filmmaker, former cultural affairs secretary of Awami League and founder president of BSJ Alamgir Kumkum with eminent cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam in the chair.

Hasan, also the publicity and publication secretary of the ruling party, said BNP leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Rizvi Ahmed, through press conferences, claimed that Begum Zia's health condition is deteriorating day by day. It seems that they (Fakhrul and Rizvi) are specialist doctors, he added.

"But, the reality is that a physician and a nurse have been appointed for Begum Zia. Even, the authorities concerned allowed her housemaid Fhatema to stay with her breaking the jail code. So, I want to urge them not to do bad politics over her health condition," the minister said.
