BNP to build a new country thru unity

The BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed the hope that his party would build a new Bangladesh through forging unity, report agencies.

"Undoubtedly, unity will be possible among us and we will be successful," he told journalists at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday after returning home following a week-long medical check-up in Singapore.

Fakhrul said, "We are expecting a new roadmap for the national elections. The elections are being shifted from December, this problem will also be resolved through discussion."

He extended greetings to the countrymen on Bangla New Year.

"We the entire nation hope that the 1432 Bengali New Year will bring new horizons for the entire nation. The minds and hearts of every person in Bangladesh will be illuminated with the joy of new possibilities. This is what we hope for. I think that the new Boishakh will create a completely new Bangladesh by blowing away all the dust and garbage of our past."
