Awami League (AL) presidium member and central 14-party alliance spokesperson Mohammad Nasim said on Monday BNP will cease to exist if the party could not come out from their politics of election boycott, reports BSS.
'BNP itself is responsible for the current miserable condition. If BNP continues boycotting polls over and over, one day it will be completely boycotted by the people," he told a discussion at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in the city.
Nasim, former health and family welfare minister, said, "We do not want opposition party less Bangladesh. You should come to parliament to criticise our flaws and mistakes".
He urged the MPs-elect of BNP and Oikyafront to take oath and join parliament.
He said, "Time is running out. So come to parliament. Why you do not take part in upazila parishad election. If you continue boycotting polls, you will have no existence like Muslim League".
AL advisory council member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, Dhaka City South AL general secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, AL leader Balaram Podder, Gana Azadi League leader Ataullah Khan and secretary general Humayun Kabir Miti, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Bangabandhu Academy acting president Sabbir Ahmed Rony chaired it.
