Broadband internet restored after 3 hours

Broadband internet services were restored at around 2:00 pm on Monday after around three hours of suspension, reports UNB.
People got disconnected with the rest of the world online, as the broadband internet was blocked at around 10:15 am. Later, the services were restored around 2:00 pm.
Internet Services Providers' Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) President Emdadul Haque said they were not getting broadband internet from the international gateway from 10:30 am.
On Sunday afternoon, the government shut down mobile internet services and restricted access to Meta platforms -- Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) issued the directive to shut down the mobile internet, announcing that 4G network would remain halted until further notice and only 2G services would be available for making calls.
