Case over death in Habiganj AL factional clash

HABIGANJ, June 19 (UNB): A case has been filed against 21 people over a factional clash of local Awami League in Ajmiriganj upazila that left one person dead.
Victim's brother Alauddin filed the case with Ajmiriganj Police Station accusing upazila Awami League president Misbah Uddin Bhuiyan, district AL adviser and Kalaillchheo union parishad chairman Nurul Haque Bhuiyan and 19 others.
Meanwhile, police arrested 11 people including Nurul Haque Bhuiyan, Misbah Uddin Bhuiyan, said Md Iqbal Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station.
Presently the Bhuiyan brothers, Nurul Haque and Misbahuddin, are undergoing treatment at the Habiganj Sadar Hospital under police custody, as they were critically injured in the clash, police said.
Al Amin, son of former upazila chairman and upazila Awami League general secretary Atar Ali Mia, was killed in a clash between two factions of the local AL unit on Monday.
