Chhatra League leader arrested in Rangpur

RANGPUR, March 20 (BSS): The Detective Branch (DB) of Kurigram district police arrested banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Saddam Hossain Nayan from Rangpur metropolis last night.

Arrested Saddam was the general secretary of the Kurigram district unit.

"The BCL leader was arrested from the city's Jahaz Company Intersection area on Wednesday night," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali police station Md Ataur Rahman confirmed the matter to the news agency.

There are multiple criminal cases against Saddam, including the Ashiq murder, tender rigging and attempt to murder and attacks on the anti-discrimination student movement during the July-August Uprising.
