CHT adviser urges all to realise the problems of hill people

BANDARBAN, Dec 28 (BSS): Adviser to Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Ministry Suprodip Chakma has urged the officials working in the CHT to realise the problems of hill people first and then solve those.
"The people of the area cannot tell their problems methodically, even they cannot raise their demands," he said.
The adviser came up with the remarks while addressing the officials of sadar upazila administration after inaugurating an extended building of the upazila complex on Saturday.
The adviser urged them to ensure all government facilities including standard education, and ongoing development activities for all section of people in the area. Ensuring safety and security of the common people should be the top priority of the local administration, he said.
In another occasion, the adviser after inaugurating the new building of Bandarban Collectorate School and College told the journalists that the government is working to solve the land disputes of the CHT like other parts of the country.
The main demand of the hill people is to make the Land Commission effective, and the Land and Law Ministry have been working to appoint new members for the commission, Suprodip Chakma added.
Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Prof Khanjama Lusai, Joint Secretary of the CHT Affairs Ministry Kongkon Chakma, Deputy Commission Bandarban Shah Mujahid Uddin, vice chairman of CHT Development Board Ripon Chakma, Additional Police Super Hussain Md Raihan Kajemi and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Md Abu Taleb, were present at the function, among others.
