Awami League (AL) Advisory Council member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu said on Thursday the persons who are violating the constitution must be sued in sedition cases, reports BSS.

The AL leader came up with the remarks while addressing a virtual discussion organised by the alliance partners in the city, marking the Jail Killing Day.

The veteran leader said, "After the assassination of Bangabandhu along with his family members and killing of the national leaders, it was proved that the target of the massacres were not a personal agenda rather transformation of independent Bangladesh into a new Pakistan without the leadership of Bengalees," he said.

Alliance leaders Tofail Ahmed, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu and Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, among others, were also present at the meeting.

"Ziaur Rahman had committed a heinous crime in the history of Bangladesh by politically rehabilitating those involved in Bangabandhu's assassination and jail killing. Later Khaleda Zia followed his footsteps. They both were the patrons of politics of murder," Amu added.

Rashed Khan Menon in his speech said, "Anti liberation forces killed the four national leaders to take revenge for the defeat in the Liberation War and to hinder the progress of independent Bangladesh."

Pointing at BNP and Jamaat, Hasanul Huq Inu said those who do not respect the memory of Bangabandhu and the four national leaders, they are the patrons of murderers and ill-politics.

Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya demanded a commission to find out the real culprits of Bangabandhu's assassination and killing of four national leaders.

The meeting was chaired by Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das.

Leaders of 14 parties including Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Jatiya Party (JP) General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, among others, addressed the meeting.
