Cops nab Jamaat leader in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Nov 17 (UNB): Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh from Daulatpur Bazar in Belkuchi upazila in a subversion case on Saturday morning.

The arrestee was identified as Nurun Nabi Sarkar, 55, ameer of Belkuchi Upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami and son of Yunus Munshi of Daulatpur area in the upazila.

Police arrested Nurun Nabi from the place around 11:30, said Anwarul Islam, officer-in-charge of Belkuchi Police Station.

He was wanted in eight cases, including for sabotage and preventing police from performing their duties, the OC added.
