Police have recovered the body of Aneek Aziz, the son of Satkhira-1 MP Mustafa Lutfullah, that was found hanging in the NAM Bhaban on the city's Manik Miah Avenue, report agencies.

A coroner has agreed with an initial police investigation that suggested Aneek had committed suicide.

Police went to Room 604 of Building-5 upon receiving information of the incident and found the body, Ganesh Gopal Biswas, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana said.

The body was then sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

The 27-year-old Aneek received his diploma from Khulna City Polytechnic and signed up for his IELTS exams to apply abroad. He was also taking a photography course.

The body was hanging from a bedroom fan with internet wires around his neck, said Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana sub-inspector Shafiqur. There were no other signs of injury on his body.

The autopsy was conducted by the hospital's Forensic Division Chief Prof AM Selim Raza.

The autopsy agreed with the initial police report, he told the media.

Asked about the contents of the report, the doctor said:

"It was written that he committed suicide by hanging."

Advocate Mustafa Lutfullah is a leader of the Workers Party of Bangladesh. He was elected the MP of Satkhira-1 in the 2014 election.

Aneek, his sister Adity Adrita Srishty and a family driver were at the NAM Bhaban on Saturday night.

Lutfullah and his wife Nasreen Khan Lipy were in Satkhira on Saturday and returned to Dhaka on Sunday morning.

"Everyone went to bed after dinner," the MP's aide Mafizul Haque Jahangir told the news agency.

"Aneek did not get up this morning. They knocked the door and called him, but he did not answer. They unlocked the room and found the body inside."
