Court freezes bank A/Cs of Chumki, confiscates flat

A Dhaka court on Sunday ordered to freeze five bank accounts of former state minister for women and children affairs Meher Afroz Chumki and confiscate her 3,115 square feet flat in the city over a graft case, reports BSS.

Dhaka metropolitan senior special judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, following a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

ACC deputy director (public relations) Aktarul Islam confirmed the developments.

The ACC, in its plea, alleged that Meher Afroz alias Meher Afroz Chumki acquired movable and immovable assets illegally.
