Court rejects bail of ex-BFIU chief Masud

The Metropolitan Sessions Court has rejected bail petition of Masud Biswas, former chief of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) of Bangladesh Bank, in a corruption case, report agencies.

Metropolitan Sessions Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court ordered to freeze 39 bank accounts of former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Sitangshu Kumar (SK) Sur Chowdhury, his wife Suparna Sur Chowdhury and daughter Nandita Sur Chowdhury.

Senior Special Judge of the court Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order to freeze those accounts, which have a current balance of about Tk 57.6 million.
