DU teachers hold victory march

Dhaka University nationalist teachers' platform 'Shada Dal' held a victory march on Tuesday marking the anniversary of the fall of Sheikh Hasina' authoritarian regime.

The march started at 12:45 PM from Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture. They proceeded toward the Raju Sculpture before its culmination at VC Chattar.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Siddiqur Rahman Khan, said, "On this day last year, we defied curfew and stood our ground at Dhaka University in the face of obstruction from the fascist regime's police and other forces.”

Open University Vice-Chancellor ABM Obaidul Islam said, "The victory on August 5 was against an internal fascist power. The state used force against its own people. We demand swift justice for those actions. Delayed justice only encourages further wrongdoing."
