EC okays five KCC mayoral aspirants’ nominations

The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday accepted nomination papers of five candidates for the mayoral post of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) polls scheduled for May 15, reports UNB.

The candidates are--Talukder Abdul Khaleque of Awami League, Nazrul Islam Manju of BNP, Shafiqul Islam of Jatiya Party, Mawlana Mozammel of Islami Andolan and Mizanur Rahman of Communist Party Bangladesh (CPB).

Earlier on April 12, the candidates submitted nomination papers.

Elections to Gazipur and Khulna city corporations will be held on May 15.
