EC responsible for creating level-playing field: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Saturday it is the responsibility of the Election Commission (EC) to ensure a level-playing field for all the parties participating in the forthcoming parliamentary election, reports UNB.

He was talking to reporters after attending a seminar as the chief guest arranged by Orchard Developers and CITIC Construction, a concern of the Chinese government, at a city hotel.

"The party will announce the nomination list within a day or two. The candidates of the parties in our alliance will be announced within a week," Quader said.

Condemning the clash between BNP activists and police, he said there is nothing new that BNP prefers violence during elections and expressed concern that the party is trying to manipulate the polls by hiring foreign lobbyists.
