Eight BCL, Jubo League activists held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 20 (BSS): Police have arrested eight activists of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jubo League during a sudden procession in front of the Rifle Club under Kotwali Police Station in the port city.
The arrests were made around 6:00 am on Friday as the procession began, police said.
The detainees are Md. Tushar (20), son of Didarul Alam of Ashraf Ali Chowdhury Bari in Chapachhari under Banshkhali; Md. Mizbah Rahman Chowdhury, son of Alam Mia of Ward No. 2 in Ratnapur area; Masudur Rahman (24); Abdullah Al Noman (20), son of Abul Kalam Azad of Fatehabad Sandhip Colony in Hathazari; Md. Rakib (19), son of Md. Swapan; Ibrahim Hossain Babu (22), son of the late Jahangir Alam; Md. Sharif Hossain Munna (20), son of Md. Bahar; Md. Riaz Hossain (20); and Syed Hamid Miyaji (22), son of Osman Gani of Syedpara area in Satkania.
Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Md. Aftab Uddin said police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the procession and detained the activists from the scene.
