Ershad again makes GM Quader his party successor

In another dramatic move, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Saturday reinstated his younger brother GM Quader as party chairman in his absence, reports UNB.

He took the decision just two days after Quader was also reinstated as the party's cochairman.

In the latest organisational instruction, he said, "I would like to inform Jatiya Party leaders and activists at all levels and its supporters, well-wishers and others concerned that in my absence or when I am under treatment abroad, the party's present cochairman GM Quader will act as the chairman of Jatiya Party."

The maverick former military strongman, known for frequently changing his decisions, relieved GM Quader of Jatiya Party's cochairman post and its organisational duty on March 22.

In an organisational instruction at that night, he accused Quader of failing to run the party and creating divisions in it. "He has been relieved of party's organisational duty and the post of co-chairman in the interest of the organisation."
