Ex-DGFI official Manjil on remand in July uprising killing case

A Dhaka court has placed former official of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Major (retd) Manjil Haider Chowdhury on a four-day remand in a case lodged over the killing of hawker Abdul Wadud during the July Uprising, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam passed the order on Friday as police produced him before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-day remand in the case.

Police on April 9 arrested Chowdhury from a house in Mohakhali DOHS in the capital.
