Ex-DGFI official on remand over banned BCL procession

A Dhaka court has placed former Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) official Major (retd) Manjil Haider Chowdhury on a five-day remand in a case lodged under The Anti-Terrorism Act over flash procession by banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Awami League in the capital in 2025, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Zunayed passed the order on Tuesday as police produced him before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.

According to the case documents, leaders and activists of banned BCL and Awami League brought out a flash procession in front of Rupayan Tower in Banglamotor area on September 12, 2025.
