Ex-EC secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent former secretary of Election Commission (EC) Helal Uddin Ahmed to jail in a case lodged over the killing of BNP activist Mokbul, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque passed the order on Tuesday as police produced the accused before the court after end of his four-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep him behind the bars until the completion of probe.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter on October 25remanded him in the case.
