Ex-minister Farhad sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent former public administration minister Farhad Hossain to jail in a case lodged over killing of garment worker Rubel in the city's Adabor area in recent anti-discrimination student movement, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ragib Noor passed the order on Thursday as police produced the former minister before the court after the end of his four-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep him behind the bars.

Farhad was arrested from Eskaton area in the capital on September 14 and was remanded by the court the next day.
