Ex-MP Fazle Karim remanded for three days in Ctg

A Chattogram court has placed Awami League (AL) leader and former MP for the Chattogram-6 constituency, ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, on a three-day remand in a murder case filed with Chawkbazar Police Station under the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) on Monday.

Metropolitan Magistrate Ibrahim Khalil granted the remand after a hearing in which Fazle Karim Chowdhury joined virtually. The CID had sought a five-day remand in the case, but the court approved a three-day remand following the hearing.

Since August 5 last year, at least a dozen cases have been filed against former MP Fazle Karim with different police stations of the district on charges including murder, kidnapping, ransom, attempted murder, and possession of weapons, land grabbing at gunpoint, vandalism, and encroachment.
