Ex-MP Sheuly Azad on eight-day remand

BRAHMANBARIA, Oct 07 (UNB): A Brahmanbaria court has placed former reserved seat MP Umme Fatema Nazma Begum Sheuly Azad on an eight-day remand in connection with a murder case.
Brahmanbaria Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-5 Judge Swagata Samya passed the order on Monday. Brahmanbaria Court Inspector Md Habibullah Sarkar confirmed the matter.
The murder case dates back to 2021, following the death of Liton Mia during anti-Modi protests in the Sarail Bishwaroad area.
Sheuly was arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) police at her residence in Dhaka's Niketan on Sunday night. The case was in connection with the murder case filed on September 3, 2024.
