The extradition process of Noor Chowdhury, one of the self-proclaimed killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, may take more time as the Canadian government has some legal complexities in this regard, said Law Minister Anisul Huq, reports UNB.

He came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting with Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Benoit Prefontaine at the secretariat on Monday.

"We talked about the repatriation of Bangabandhu's fugitive condemned killer Noor Chowdhury but they (the Canadian Government) have some problems which will not be resolved instantly, it may take more time," he said.

"It is the verdict of our highest court to execute the killers of Bangabandhu and we will continue our efforts to implement it through dialogue with the Canadian government", he said.

Referring to the appointment of Chief Justice, the Minister said according to the Constitution of the country it is President's responsibility to appoint the Chief Justice and only he can say when the CJ will be appointed.
