Fakhrul, Khosru off to US to attend National Prayer Breakfast

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury have left for the USA to attend the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC.

They took an Emirates Airlines flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6:40 pm on Sunday, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

He said the duo is expected to return to Bangladesh on February 9, report agencies.

Sayrul said a three-member BNP delegation, including Fakhrul, Khosru, and party Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's daughter, Barrister Zaima Rahman, will participate in the event.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will lead the BNP delegation, he added.

Fakhrul said at the airport, "The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event in the US. Our party's Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, has also been invited to this event. As he is unable to attend, his daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman will represent him."
