Former President Shahabuddin leaves Bangabhaban

Former President Mohammed Shahabuddin has left Bangabhaban with his family.

His motorcade departed the presidential residence at around 2:25 pm on Sunday and comprised 18 vehicles, including the former president's car and those of law enforcement agencies.

Journalists from various media outlets gathered outside Bangabhaban, while curious onlookers also lined the street in front of the presidential residence. Law enforcement personnel maintained a heightened presence in the area throughout the afternoon.

Mohammed Shahabuddin arrived at his residence, Green Villa, on Road No. 123 in Gulshan at around 2:58 pm.

Before assuming the presidency, Mohammed Shahabuddin resided in a fifth-floor apartment at the Gulshan residence.

Security was also tightened around the former president's residence, with members of the police, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and other law enforcement agencies deployed there since Sunday morning. On July 24, Mohammed Shahabuddin submitted his signed resignation letter to Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad. Upon receiving the letter, the Speaker announced his resignation at a press conference later that day.
