Four men of AL, affiliates arrested

The detective branch (DB) of police has arrested four leaders of banned Awami League (AL) and its affiliates.

The arrestees are former general secretary of Dhaka University's Shahidullah Hall unit of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and also former vice-president of central committee ofBCL Hedayet Ullah Sarcar (40), vice-president of Dhaka city north unit of banned Jubo League Md Giasuddin (58), former president of Mymensingh district unit of BCL and also joint general secretary of the district unit of AL Md Sharif Hasan Anu (53) and organising secretary of Taltoli upazila under Barguna district unit of AL Abdur Razzaque (47).

Deputy Commission (DC-Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said a DB police team of Lalbagh circle of the capital nabbed Hedayet Ullah Sarcar from Dania in the Jatrabari area on Wednesday night.

A DB Cyber Special team conducted a raid in the Rupnagar Police Station area in the capital and arrested Md Giasuddin on Wednesday.

Another DB police team in a drive nabbed Md Sharif Hasan Anu on Wednesday in the Purbapara area under Kotiadi upazila in Kishoreganj district.

A police team of Ramna Police Station arrested Abdur Razzaque on Wednesday in the Ramna area.

Meanwhile, Aminul Islam, inspector at the Police Training Centre in Tangail, has been shown arrested in a case filed against him with a Dhaka court.
