Gaan Bangla Chairman Taposh sent to jail in attempted murder case

A Dhaka court has sent Kaushik Hossain Taposh, chairman of Gaan Bangla TV, to jail after showing him arrested in a case filed for an attempt to kill rickshaw-van driver Abdul Jabbar Howlader during July uprising, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate G M Farhan Ishtiaq passed the order on Wednesday after the investigation officer produced him before the court with an appeal to officially show him arrested in the Abdul Jabbar Howlader case. According to the case details, on July 19 last year, police and ruling party activists allegedly opened fire in Shahjadpur of Gulshan. Abdul Jabbar Howlader sustained gunshot injuries during the protest.
