Leaders and activists of Gono Odhikar Parishad on Wednesday blocked Paltan intersection for around half an hour to press home their three-point demand including justice for its president Nurul Haque Nur and others, reports UNB.
Witnesses said the blockade began around 5:30 pm when the party activists burnt tyres on the road, disrupting traffic at Rampura, Mohakhali, Shahbagh, Gulistan and Motijheel.
The protesters demanded justice for the recent attack on their president Nurul Haque Nur and other activists, resignation of the Home Affairs Adviser, and a ban on the political activities of Jatiya Party.
Traffic movement returned to normal around 6:00pm after Gona Odhikar Parishad activists left the area.
