'Gun attack' leaves Jubo Dal activist injured in city

A Jubo Dal activist has been shot and injured in a 'gun attack' by some miscreants in Nayabazar Park area of Old Dhaka, reports UNB.

The victim was identified as Russel (31), an activist of Kotwali unit of Jubo Dal and son of Mohammad Ali of Shyampur area of the capital.

Ripon Das, a friend of Russel, said a group of miscreants appeared at Nayabazar Park around 9:00 pm on Friday. and opened fire on Russel when he was sitting there, leaving him injured.

He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) from where he was shifted to a private hospital in Dhanmondi, said Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
