Handle pry teachers' demand with sympathy: Parwar

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Parwar has condemned the use of police force, sound grenades and water cannons against government primary school teachers demonstrating in the capital to press their three-point demand, including a salary upgrade to the 10th grade, report agencies.

In a statement on Sunday, Mia Golam Parwar stated that the teachers' demands should be treated with sympathy and resolved through discussion.

"It is the responsibility of the government to address their demands reasonably. The injuries sustained by over a hundred teachers during the protest are deeply regrettable and distressing," he added.

He said teachers play a vital role as the 'architects of the nation' and that any movement involving them should be handled with greater patience and respect.
