Hasina safe haven for people of all religions: Rezaul Karim

PIROJPUR, Aug 19 (BSS): Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Friday said Sheikh Hasina is the safe haven for all religious people as the Prime Minister ensured their rights through an amendment to the constitution.

"Once upon a time, secularism, one of the integral parts of the constitution, was erased and religion-based politics initiated in the country through amending section 38 of the constitution…secularism has been established again," he added.

The minister made the comment while participating in a colourful rally arranged by different local organizations marking Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna and one of the major festivals of the Hindus, at Nazirpur upazila here.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina again incorporated secularism in the constitution and that's why the people of all religions could perform their rituals equally, the minister said in his address.
