HC adjourns hearing on Zubaida's appeal against conviction until Monday

The High Court (HC) has adjourned until Monday the hearing on an appeal filed by BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman's wife Dr Zubaida Rahman against her three-year jail sentence given by the lower court concerned in a graft case, report agencies.

A HC bench of Justice Md Khasruzzaman passed the order on Thursday as it held the hearing in part.

Earlier, the court on May 14 granted bail to Dr Zubaida Rahman as she filed the appeal against her conviction and three-year jail sentence in the case. The court approved her bail until the appeal is resolved and also stayed the fine imposed on her by the lower court.

Additionally, the HC sought all relevant documents of the case from the concerned lower court.
