HC orders probe into arrest of children over Gopalganj violence

The High Court (HC) has directed the government to form a probe committee into the arrest of children in connection with the incident of attacks and violence centering the National Citizen Party's July March programme in Gopalganj, reports BSS.

A HC division bench comprising Justice Kazi Zinat Hoque and Justice Aynun Nahar Siddiqua on Sunday passed the order following a hearing on a writ petition in this regard. The bench also fixed November 5 for the next hearing.

The rule sought to know why the inaction in considering the Children Act 2013 and UN Convention on the Rights of the Child should not be declared as beyond legal authority.
