HC upholds death penalty for three

The High Court (HC) upheld on Monday death sentence of three persons convicted by a lower court concerned in a case lodged over murder of one Razzak Fakir of Tarakanda, Mymensingh, in 2008, reports BSS.

The three death-row-convicts are- Mir Jahan, Emdadul Haque and Anisur Rahman. The High Court however, commuted death sentence of another convict Ziarul Haque to life imprisonment.

The High Court virtual bench of Justice Shahidul Karim and Justice Md Akhtaruzzaman passed the order after holding hearing on jail appeals and death reference in the case.
