Jamaat-e-Islami's Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has called on the chief adviser (CA) to hold dialogue with political parties over the next national election, accusing the current administration of compromising with 'fascism', reports bdnews24.com.

On Sunday, the party's deputy chief said even those placed in power after the July Uprising had made concessions to "fascism".

He insisted only a free, fair, neutral and participatory election could free Bangladesh from its grip.

He argued that rushing into elections without reforms, justice, and implementation of the July Proclamation and National Charter would only strengthen 'fascism'.

Stressing proportional representation (PR), he claimed 71 per cent of citizens supported the system and urged its adoption in both houses of parliament.

Taher urged Yunus to hold roundtable talks with parties and then act on the people's demands.

He called for Islamic and democratic forces to unite in a movement to achieve these goals.
