ICT issues arrest warrant against Nowfel, 14 others

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued arrest warrant against 15 people, including former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, former mayors of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury and AJM Nasir Uddin over the killing of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Wasim Akram during the July-August mass uprising, reports BSS.

"The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order on Tuesday, allowing a plea of the prosecution," ICT Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam told journalists.

Wasim took part in the anti-discrimination movement in the Chattogram city's Muradpur area on July 16 and was gunned down by the cadres of BCL.
