ICT sends ex-IGP, two others to jail in Kalyanpur raid case

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has showed former inspector general of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hauque, former commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Asaduzzaman Miah and the then assistant commissioner (AC) of DMP's Mirpur Zone Jasim Uddin Mollah arrested in a case lodged over alleged staged raid of law enforcers, where nine people were gunned down, reports BSS.

"The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order on Monday and sent them to jail after allowing a plea of the prosecution," said prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud.

Different units of the DMP and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted the

raid on the house known as 'Jahajbari' for its ship-like design on July 26, 2016.
