ICT shows Atiqul, five others arrested

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has showed former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam and five others arrested in a case for crimes against humanity committed during the July-August mass uprising, reports BSS.

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order on Monday, allowing the prosecution's plea. The court then sent the former lawmaker back to jail.

The five others are Awami League (AL) Uttara East unit education affairs secretary Md Shahinur Miah,AL Uttara West unit president Monowarul Islam Chowdhury Robin, AL Gazipur city unit organising secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, Uttara sector 6 AL president Md Bashir Uddin, and Jubo League leader Delwar Hossain Rubel.

The tribunal also set March 9 for submitting probe report in the case.
