ICT to grill Palak over internet shutdown

Chief Prosecutor Md Tajul Islam has said the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in Dhaka will interrogate former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak over allegations linked to internet service disruptions during the mass uprising.
The ICT will also interrogate him about the actions involving plans for genocide, removal of evidence, and isolate Bangladesh globally through internet blackout, said the chief prosecutor on Thursday.
Earlier on the day, prosecution team of the ICT filed an application to the tribunal seeking its permission to interrogate the former state minister. The tribunal allowed the petition.
The chief prosecutor said Palak is scheduled for questioning on December 18.
Apart from this, Abul Hasan, a former Officer-in-Charge of Jatrabari Police Station, will be questioned in connection with the murder of student Imam Hasan Taim during the uprising in Dhaka's Jatrabari area on August 4.
