Interim govt won't be let down: Tuku

TANGAIL, Apr 03 (BSS): BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has said the interim government will not be let down.

"This government was established through the student movement, if this government fails, the blood of the martyrs will be in vain," he said.

Tuku said democracy, for which the martyrs gave their blood, has to be established through an election.

He came up with the remarks while speaking at a Meet the Press, organised on the occasion of the 'Bindubasini Football Championship' at Tangail Press Club on Thursday.

Regarding the demand for establishment of the right to vote, Tuku expressed hope that this government will arrange the election at a reasonable time.

He said it is the expectation of all of us that the people of the country will exercise their voting rights through fair elections.
