IRI optimistic about sending observers for next JS polls

US-based International Republican Institute (IRI) has expressed optimism about sending observers for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections reports BSS.

An eight-member IRI delegation met with Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah at the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat in the capital's Agargaon Wednesday and expressed this optimism, EC officials said.

Christopher J. Fussner, member of the Board of Directors of IRI, led the delegation while other members were Lisa Curtis, senior fellow and director of the Indo-Pacific Security Program, CNAS, Jessica Keegan, Technical expert on democratic elections and political processes, IRI, Steve Cima Resident Program Director, IRI, Jami Spykerman Program Director, NDI, Johkn Fluharty, Political party and campaign consultant, IRI, Darin Bielecki, Consultant, IRI and Amitabha Ghosh, Program Consultant, IRI.
