Jail authority takes suspended SCC mayor to jail from hospital

SYLHET, Oct 23 (UNB): Suspended mayor of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) Ariful Haque, who was undergoing treatment at Osmani Medical College Hospital, was sent back to Sylhet Central jail on Sunday.

Jail Super Abdus Sagir Mia said the doctors of the hospital released him as his physical condition got improved after treatment and then the jail authorities took him to the jail.

On September 26, Ariful Haque Chawdhury was admitted to the hospital as he fell sick in jail,

Ariful had high blood pressure and uncontrolled diabetes.

Ariful Haque Chawdhury is now behind the bar in former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria murder case.
