RANGPUR, Aug 16 (BSS): Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Executive Council Member ATM Azaharul Islam has stated that his party neither supports nor believes in mob justice.

"Mob justice reflects an inhuman mentality and behavior. Human beings are the best of creation, and no one has the right to beat another person to death," he said.

He made the remarks while visiting the family of Ruplal Das, who was killed in a mob attack on the night of August 9 in Battali area of Soyar Union, Taraganj Upazila, Rangpur, on suspicion of cattle theft.

ATM Azaharul Islam expressed condolences to the victim's family and said those who take the law into their own hands are not human beings. "They are inhuman," he added.

"We are all the best of creation as made by Allah Almighty. How can such people beat another to death? No one has the right to take the law into their own hands," he said.

During the visit, he provided financial assistance to Ruplal Das's family and assured support for the marriage of the victim's daughter on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami. Earlier in the day, ATM Azaharul Islam addressed a gathering of Musollis at Ghanirampur Bhanga Mosque in Taraganj upazila.
