‘Jamaat for establishing a welfare state’

NARSINGDI, June 27 (BSS): Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal said Jammat is committed to establishing a just and welfare-oriented state for the people.

"Jamaat-e-Islami is committed to establishing a just and welfare-oriented state in the future because Jamaat stands for truth and justice that despite imprisonment, repression, and torture during the past 16 years, the party has now regained its registration and electoral symbol," he added. So far, the party has finalised candidates in nearly 300 constituencies across the country, though the number may vary in the coming days, he further informed.

He made these remarks while addressing as the chief guest at the representatives conference of Jamaat-e-Islami's Palash unit under Narsingdi district, held at the Ghorashal Municipal Auditorium.

The conference was presided over by Maulana Abul Kashem Shikdar, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami's Palash Upazila unit. The event was conducted by Masud Karim, secretary of the unit.

Narsingdi district Ameer Maulana Moslehuddin, district secretary Maulana Amzad Hossain, and district working committee members Sayeduzzaman, Abdul Jabbar, and Maulana Abul Aziz, Ameer of Madhabdi Thana were, among others, present at the event.
