Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has initiated an awareness campaign at Dhaka University on Sunday, with the objective of encouraging students to conserve water and electricity in the context of ongoing global resource constraints.
JCD Central Library Secretary Touhidul Islam inaugurated the programme in front of the university's Central Library. The initiative was organised under the theme, "Are we fulfilling our responsibilities during this time of global crisis?", and was attended by leaders and activists from various levels of the organisation.
As part of the campaign, informational leaflets were distributed across the campus and surrounding areas, urging students to adopt more responsible practices in their daily consumption of water and electricity. Touhidul Islamsaid access to safe drinking water remains a significant challenge. He underscored the importance of prudent water usage, noting that simple practices-such as ensuring taps are properly turned off after use-can make a meaningful contribution to conserving this essential resource.
