JP won't form any alliance with BNP, says Ershad

RANGPUR, Jan 23 (BSS): Jatiya Party (JP) chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad said on Tuesday his party will contest all 300 parliamentary seats in the next general elections.
"We have finalised the list of candidates for all 300 parliamentary seats to take part in the next general elections," he said.
The Jatiya Party leader, a former autocrat, came up with the comments while talking to journalists at Rangpur Circuit House in the city.
"Jatiya Party will not form any alliance with BNP," Ershad said, adding that his party will take decision in proper time whether to fight the next general elections alone or not. Ershad said the next general elections will be held at right time as per constitution of the country.
"Jatiya Party will take part in the next general elections whether BNP takes part in it or not," Ershad said.
Co-chairman of JP Golam Muhammad Quader, its presidium member and State Minsiter for LGRD and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga, president of city JP and newly- elected mayor of Rangpur Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa and local JP leaders were present.
Earlier, leaders of Rangpur district and city units of JP welcomed Ershad with wreaths on his arrival at a domestic airport in Saidpur from Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
