November 11, 2017 00:00:00

The 45th founding anniversary of Jubo League (JL), youth wing of the ruling Awami League, will be celebrated today (Saturday) in a befitting manner, reports BSS.

Bangladesh Awami Jubo League is the first youth organisation of Bangladesh founded by Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni at the directive of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through a youth convention at the Institution of Engineers on November 11, 1972.

The organisation has chalked out different programmes to mark the anniversary, which include hoisting of the national and party flags at its central office at 6:30 am, paying tributes to Bangabandhu by placing floral wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi 32 at 8:00 am and paying homage to martyred Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni and martyrs of August 15, 1975 at the Banani graveyard at 9:00 am and offering Fateha.

Dhaka City South and North units of JL will bring out a colourful procession from the east gate of the historic Suhrawardy Udyan at 2:00 pm today.

The procession will end at Bangabandhu Bhaban after parading different city streets.

Apart from the central programme, district and upazila units of JL will also organise separate programmes.

In a statement on the eve of the anniversary, Awami Jubo League President Omar Faroque Chowdhury and General Secretary Harunur Rashid urged all leaders and workers to make the programmes of the day a success.
