‘Kailla Polash’ dies at city hospital

Top-listed criminal Yasin Khan Polash, known as "Kailla Polash", died early Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. He was shot a week ago in the Rampura area of the capital.

OC of Hatirjheel Police Station, M Asaduzzaman, said Polash succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital around 1:00 am on Saturday.

Polash was shot near his house, opposite the BTV building in Rampura, on June 12.

He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition and later shifted to Evercare Hospital.

Following the incident, his wife, Mahmuda Khanam, filed an attempted murder case with Hatirjheel Police Station, naming Jisan Ahmed Monti as the prime accused in the First Information Report (FIR). She also described Polash in the case statement as a top criminal.
